Columbus Unit

Main Questions: By the end of the unit, the student should be able to respond to the following questions:

1. Who were the first Americans?

2. What were the myths of the time that scientists were trying to correct?

3. What changes in technology, science, business, beliefs, religion, etc. led to big changes in how people lived and thought (shift from Middle Ages to Modern Age)?

4. What happened to the Native Americans and Europeans when the two cultures met?

5. Is Columbus a hero, criminal, both, neither, or other? Explain.
