10. CS-L class instructors have been asked to participate in a variety of forums, conferences, and workshops. They have presented at the MN Dept. of Children, Families, and Learning; Assessing Learning through Service Conference, the National Convention of the National Youth Leadership Council, and others. John Ruggeberg, the founder of the district's course has spoken on the topics of service-learning and character education from Washington to San Diego(and points in-between!). He has testified before the Congressional Committee on Youth Service as well as President Clinton's Domestic Policy Team. He is a founding member of the Character Education Partnership. This summer he is speaking at the Character Education Conference in St. Louis.
